tea time Tuesday #3

Well I think I'm getting the hang of blogging, at least I think I am then someone will suggest something I should do and I'm at a loss again.
On Saturday Iam going to have a surprise Mothers Day Tea for my mother and her sisters and a sister-in-law. She has five sisters, one can't make due to ill health so we should have six all together seven counting me. I'm going to be too nervous to sit. I have started the tablesetting already and going to share one of the cups n saucers. Maybe two, I don't want to run out some day, although I can always get more.
1970 the first year we got married I had  bought a cup n saucer like this one for my mother and my mother-in-law for Mothers Day, from our local store that sold china, Cups n saucers, Royal Doultons etc. It was an amazing store. I always loved the pattern so was lucky enough to get one at an auction. Have to say it is one of my favorites. That is until I look at another one and will feel the same about it.
For our "Mothers Day Tea" going to have lilac and pink -leading to cranberry pink, so this
cup n saucer is perfect for it and this one will be at mom's setting for her to use. I know she loves it too.
It is a Royal Albert as is the one below, which has the pink and lilac flowers,
Will show more pictures later this week and Saturday for Pink Saturday.
Enjoy Tea Time Tuesday

I am sharing this page with Sandi at rose chintz cottage

  1. I wish I were coming to tea! I love your tea cups. I could not choose. They are both gorgeous. Please post some photos from your beautiful tea and enjoy the family time. Happy Mother's Day to all!

  2. Hello Betty
I see you are new to blogging and gathering for tea each week is a nice way to meet other women bloggers. Your teacups are pretty and your Mother's Day tea will be wonderful for sure. Decorating the sugar cubes is not hard - you use royal icing and a #1 tip; they really add a special touch to a tea table.
I'll have to look up your location, we're just south of Barrie.

  3. Hi Betty,
Your teacups are so pretty. I especially like the first one! How lovely to have a special tea for those special ladies in your life. Thanks for sharing with us and have a beautiful day.

  4. Betty,
It is so lovely to know a new person who loves tea parties! Your Royal Doulton chintz cups and saucers are beautiful and are just perfect for tea time. I love your idea of a surprise tea for your Mother and her sisters and how delighted they will be with you honoring them.
    Have a beautful Mother's Day!
