tea time Tuesday #3

Well I think I'm getting the hang of blogging, at least I think I am then someone will suggest something I should do and I'm at a loss again.
On Saturday Iam going to have a surprise Mothers Day Tea for my mother and her sisters and a sister-in-law. She has five sisters, one can't make due to ill health so we should have six all together seven counting me. I'm going to be too nervous to sit. I have started the tablesetting already and going to share one of the cups n saucers. Maybe two, I don't want to run out some day, although I can always get more.

1970 the first year we got married I had  bought a cup n saucer like this one for my mother and my mother-in-law for Mothers Day, from our local store that sold china, Cups n saucers, Royal Doultons etc. It was an amazing store. I always loved the pattern so was lucky enough to get one at an auction. Have to say it is one of my favorites. That is until I look at another one and will feel the same about it.

For our "Mothers Day Tea" going to have lilac and pink -leading to cranberry pink, so this
cup n saucer is perfect for it and this one will be at mom's setting for her to use. I know she loves it too.

It is a Royal Albert as is the one below, which has the pink and lilac flowers,

Blue Monday

I participated in Blue Monday last week, but didn't put any links so redoing some of the pictures for this Monday, hopefully I get it right.

                                                Picked these up at an auction a month ago,
                                             just six dinner plates and six bread n butter plates.
                                             Matches my dining room walls, and makes a nice
                                                   setting, especially on the gold chargers.

it is a Shelley and so pretty, I was having a cup of tea
in it a couple of weeks ago and I went to wash it, picked up
the cup and the saucer was stuck to it, fell and hit the granite
cupboard and smashed, I never break any dishes, shouldn't say that, now I will....

Pink Saturday

Sorry, I'm a little late, been working outside in a pond all day, sprung a leak so had to put down a new liner. Surrounding the pond are pink rocks and I have a lot of small pink rocks, so I was saving them. All the time I was moving pink rocks I was thinking about pink Saturday, so appropriate. Will show the pink rocks later when the lillies are blooming. For now seeing I'm so late, I will show my shoes again and a small case I got for a birthday gift.

I know I showed two pair of these shoes, on Thursday,

so I added two more pair of pink ones, the first
two to the right are new with the purses, larger purse

is from Avon, the pink shoes with bows got in

Seattle Washington years ago and the other pink ones
are from Zellers.

This is an I-phone cover, that my daughter got

me for my birthday, so pretty, the inside will

hold a couple of credit cards, which is great for

shopping. Get comments on it all the time.

Will be ready for next Pink Saturday. 1959 my parents built a new home and my mother

always liked pink, she did her kitchen cupboards pink with the large silver knobs, it was the prettiest kitchen, even at that time other women would be surprised with the pink. I will never forget it.

Thursday Tea Time

Love the design and shape of the teapot and accessory pieces.
Handles have rose and lid is a rose bud.

I'm joining Miss Spenser's Teacup Thursday 

Teacup Thursday

Good morning, so excited going to join Miss Spencer's for Teacup Thursday. Have a grandson home here today and just maybe he will join me. (put a wig on him? think his hockey team would be checking out the tea blog). Calls for peppermint tea, thats what he drinks when he doesn't feel well.
But first as Martha would say ( I spent three days/nights last week going through all of Marthas tea blogs and love how she says-"Did I mention I collect?)
Well I don't collect shoes but I have to add my new acquisitions

I coulnd't resist, don't the ones below look

like a fancy teacup. That's my rationalization.

Okay enough of this, now to get down to business.

Tea in the Garden-well verandah-close

Got up early this morning and put my tablecloth out to get ready for my tea in the garden. We were going to Toronto first and then I hear we won't be back until four, going to miss my tea. Well we made it by two so I made it, lovely day a little bit of a cool breeze but still nice to be outdoors.

Drank a pot of camomile tea with Daisy,

wonderful afternoon. Daisy lost her leg earlier this year
and was shaved so we keep a sweater on her, for vanity and warmth,
also will have to make sure she doesn't get sunburned.
