started with an auction Friday night and then just lazed around for the next three days. We
visited the tea room in Port Hope late Saturday afternoon, Sunday Music Night in the Park and
today Monday we went to the movies and saw "People Like Us" (very good)
To make it perfect the Tea Time magazine was on the shelf and that just capped it off as perfect..
This is our late afternoon tea, we had it on the deck at the
Sommerhill Tea Room, View overlooks downtown Port Hope, wonderful lady that runs the tea room.Outside isn't fancy, but the day was perfect, so made it great.
My teacup didn't match and I think that is for the deck tea
I had spice and ginger, and a ginger soup to start, delicious.
Menu above and the corner of the deck,
Flowers in tea pots, I got a scone to take home as a Canada Day Gift, as I said the Owner
is wonderful as well as the waitress.
We finished off our day with Scrabble outside on the deck, did I say it was a perfect
day yet.Sunday July 1st Canada Day, I was practicing the easy things in the Tea Time Magazine
I didn't have any floral cookie cutters, just the star, not really our emblem, need a
maple leaft. This is the watermelon and feta cheese, it's different, not sure
I would make it again.
This is the cantalope soup in the Tea Time Magazine,
now this I really enjoyed, didn't add the mint, but it would be
delicious in it
this was an early tea as we had to get to the park
that adjoins our propert for Our Canada Day Music in the Park, it was a another great day, and
naturally started off with "O Canada"
I hope everyone had a great Canada Day, before I go on with my blog, I
have to say that Iam very disappointed in The Tea Time magazine for not mentioning Canada Day-I know it's an American magazine, but I also
know I'm not the only Canadian that reads it... just saying...

That sounds like it was indeed the perfect Canada Day! So glad it was so special! My Tea Time hasn't arrived...I'm a W, so it seems to arrive later than other folks'. Thanks for sharing your perfect holiday and linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Hi Betty,
ReplyDeleteWell, it sounds like you certainly had the perfect weekend. I'm glad for you! We had beautiful weather but as I mentioned in my post that hubby and I were quite sick. Feeling better now, thank goodness.
The cantalope soup looks wonderful and your outing to the tea room sounded like fun. The teacup with the ivy on it was lovely. Thank you for joining me for Tea Time and have a lovely week, my friend.
Blesisngs,
Sandi
Oh yes - I am on for sure! Lovely post here with all this delicious food! Hope you can come link up.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty,
ReplyDeletewhat a nice tea time for Canada Day. Love the watermelon with feta cheese, it looks yummy. But I am not sure weather I would prefer tomato instead of the watermelon. Anyway that sounds very refreshing. I think you had a perfect day.
Thank you Betty, for coming to my tea time and for the nice comment.
Best greetings,
Johanna
What a delightful day you had! I love the tea on the porch and that you tried these interesting sounding recipes! No one in my family likes cantaloupe - wish we did!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
