Tea Time Tuesday & Tea in the Garden

Actually, night time tea, welcome another glorious day -weather is amazing, althought not a lot of work getting done. I work, I sit, I work, I sweat, I work.... I may have all my weeds pulled by the fall, but I am working on it.
I was just checking Sandi's tea and her roses are so pretty, I have about two and don't want to take them off the bushes.
Below is a lotus that I am quite proud of...

The rose and lily garden, I need to name my
girl, maybe Serena after my china. That I should remember

the lily below came from "In the Haystack" a lily
garden centre we have a couple of miles away. I believe this one is called
                                                                    Gladys Brown

this is just a normal lily, I don't have many pinks, mostly peach and corals

In the background of the pond you can see my
weather vane-and that isn't what you would call it-a whirligig
It is something that is mesmorizing, going around and around.
It's made out of stainless steel. The birds will ride it like a ferris
wheel going upside down.
this is the whirligig below, not a good angle , but you get the idea.

Ok on to tea
we are having our nightly midnight tea,
using my green striped footstool to hold the tray
below the balled feet, I think they are wood and are all hand painted different
Remember MacKenzie-Childs?

this footstool came from? where else but an auction, we sold out the
little gift store, she had 895.00 on it... no idea what I paid but sure wasn't that. It was
probably 15 years ago, love it, it's a little funky
now for the tea, Mr. Tea Cozie did it, all
Original-Tea is Red Rose, never different, same old teapot,
same mugs, and the original napkin, same red tray since 1992
                                                                  and his cookies-original
Today is 34, too hot for a cup of tea, so we are having ice tea and fruit,

so refreshing, one of those days were you don't move too much,
for sure not too fast.

July 2nd I tried to order Chalk paint from Lauren Lane Decor in Calgary Alberta. I went through all the questions that you enter and it refused my phone number, said it wasn't a real number. So I did it over again and same thing. So I sent an email to Tara Jamieson owner of Lauren Lane and she sent me back a text to eliminate a number and try again.
So went ot reorder and try it again and the Lauren lane Decor website has been discontinued that Tara has died, from a sudden accident. So sorry to read this, I never met her, but she is an expert in refinishing furniture, an expert with the paint and so quick to answer back.
My deepest sympathies to the family and friends...

It's pink Saturday time again, and what to do or show, their is so much pink in the house, but if I show it all I won't have anything left for next time. So going to show some roses that are re-
blooming again. Also, we have a pretty auction tomorrow night and going to show some of the cups n saucers, but forgot to take pictures of the pink depression glass (I think it's new anyways).

Every Thursday or Friday morning I go in and
Decorate the auctions, have to use whatever is on hand.
Whether it be fuscia, orange or whatever. This week was great for teas
Isn't this a pretty plate?

Not too hard to decorate, they don't bring a lot of money anymore,
unless it's a special one.
these are all Scottish tea cups n saucers-below

Royal Doulton set of dishes |"Bell Heather"
Now I didn't set this up, need a centrepiece and
will find something in the morning.

Need some scones... or strawberrys with white chocolate and Marscapone...
ENjoy all these teapots are to be auctioned
Blarney Castle
William Shakespeare"Romeo & Juliet"
Demitasse set
Country Cupboard (didn't check the bottom so probably
                                                                     not right name)
This picture below was to be on my last post and I couldn't open it no matter what I did,
showing my umbrella opened up, my new table and chairs and the rose garden with the lady in
the background. Iam going to have to give her a name???

Just in case anyones thinking-I'm not soliciting, by the time
everyone sees these pictures the auction will be long over.
Just so appropriate for a tea and a pink tea is even better...

I will be joining Beverley pink Saturday

Tea in the Garden

well I missed out on tea yesterday with Sandi and everyone for the Anne of Green Gables tea, I did share, so I sure didn't want to miss tea in the garden with Bernideen.
Our weather has been so gorgeous, rain at night, hot during the day, today was beautiful, no
humidity, got a lot of gardening done, still a lot to do. My roses are just blooming again, but don't want to pick them yet, so using my silk ones in the end of day glass vase/pitcher. The top table cloth is a new one from ebay. It is massive roses.
oops I changed a cup n' saucer, it's a new one
I got a couple of weeks ago at the auction. Didn't have roses on
it and wanted to go with the rose theme. Will show it again.

The cup n saucer is American Beauty by Royal Albert
this is my mother-in-laws china, she had enought pieces to
leave a complete set to both her daughters. Very pretty,
we have sold a variation to it at one time

I love this tea cup, been waiting to use it (I love them all, got rid of everything I didn't like) and in honour of Anne of Green Gables. Sandi used green and this has the roses too.
It is by Royal Albert - Garden Party Series "Spring Song"

The teapot is an auction goodie I bought two weeks ago.

New napkins that I got off ebay

this is another napkin set, it's been around for years.

a tatted doilie that was under the vase of flowers
I forgot to show my umbrella yesterday, then I took a picture of it open and having trouble downloading... must be because I'm inside and it's bad luck to open an umbrella inside...joke

Thank you for joining me for my tea in the garden, although, you would have
been hungry, didn't have a thing to eat. No fruit, no goodies but I do have grandsons. Hard to keep food in the house when they visit. Lucky for me they don't like tea.
I will be joining tea in the garden

Anne of Green Gables Tea

Today is the Anne of Green Gables Tea party and I am not at home. In Port Perry which is about five miles from Uxbridge where Lucy Maude Montgomery MacDonald moved to with her husband Ewan, he was the minister for St. Pauls Presbyterian Church in Leaskdale. Now having said we were that close, we didn't get over today to get a picture of the home and placque but have seen it many times. We have a good friend who lives in Zephyr and that is the sister church to the one in Leaskdale.
Leaskdale is part of Durham Region which we share, it does take in a big area.

this is taken from the internet, seeing I didn't make it there.

the TV series Road to Avonlea was filmed in Uxbridge (Leaskdale)

the roads were painted red to represent the sand in PEI. My
grandmother was a big fan of Anne and it was something we always
shared. She lived in Prince Albert for awhile which is close to Uxbridge
and had been to her PEI to the home that Sandi has on her post.
While I waited in the car for Frank to list an auction I read Kathy's post A Delightsome Life, the story of Anne having tea with her good friend Diana and the sad results. So I did miss out on the tea,
today, but my thoughts and heart was
with everyone and I shared the next best way, and now Iam sitting here drinking my late night tea...

I am sharing with Sandi's Anne of Green Gables Tea

Tea Cup Tuesday

What a great holiday weeknd we have had for Canada Day, it was perfect in everyway. We
started with an auction Friday night and then just lazed around for the next three days. We
visited the tea room in Port Hope late Saturday afternoon, Sunday Music Night in the Park and
today Monday we went to the movies and saw "People Like Us" (very good)
To make it perfect the Tea Time magazine was on the shelf and that just capped it off as perfect..
This is our late afternoon tea, we had it on the deck at the
Sommerhill Tea Room, View overlooks downtown Port Hope, wonderful lady that runs the tea room.
Outside isn't fancy, but the day was perfect, so made it great.
My teacup didn't match and I think that is for the deck tea

I had spice and ginger, and a ginger soup to start, delicious.

Menu above and the corner of the deck,
Flowers in tea pots,
I got a scone to take home as a Canada Day Gift, as I said the Owner
is wonderful as well as the waitress.

We finished off our day with Scrabble outside on the deck, did I say it was a perfect
day yet.
Sunday July 1st Canada Day, I was practicing the easy things in the Tea Time Magazine
I didn't have any floral cookie cutters, just the star, not really our emblem, need a
maple leaft. This is the watermelon and feta cheese, it's different, not sure
I would make it again.
Our Canada Day tea, (ice tea)

This is the cantalope soup in the Tea Time Magazine,
now this I really enjoyed, didn't add the mint, but it would be
delicious in it

this was an early tea as we had to get to the park
that adjoins our propert for Our Canada Day
Music in the Park, it was a another great day, and
naturally started off with "O Canada"
I hope everyone had a great Canada Day, before I go on with my blog, I
have to say that Iam very disappointed in The Tea Time magazine for
not mentioning Canada Day-I know it's an American magazine, but I also
know I'm not the only Canadian that reads it... just saying...

I am joining
