My Chintzy Tea

Finally, warm weather. Been busy getting flower beds cleaned up, making a new waterfall, getting ready for a wedding rehearsal party and finishing the bridal bouquet. Missed tea last week and bothered me all week. So today my tea is on my new tea wagon, next week should be outside.
Teapot is Chintz pattern is Marina by Lord Nelson, got at an auction.
the tray on the tea wagon is so pretty have a ivory and pink doilie under it

cup n saucer matches same pattern
salt n pepper is also Lord Nelson, nothing to do with the tea,
just enjoy it and never get to use it, not quite the same pattern either

the cupcake is one of the samples from the wedding samples
that daughter-in-law was tasting. This one didn't win, pretty but
the others have petals and are really pretty.
the rose is also a sample we are using in the flower pieces for
the church, there will be lots of pictures in two weeks.
The cupcake is sitting on a chintz Royal Winton
pattern is summertime, one of my favourites.

going to show the wedding bouquet as know one on
here will be at wedding, don't show the groom

doesn't show up so well

in the vase under the cloche

made out of broaches, very glamorous and very fitting for the bride.

Dreary Day Tea/Simple Elegance

Spring is here or it was yesterday, lovely day, a little too windy, but Mr. Sun was shining away. I didn't want to come in last night- didn't want it to end. Then this morning get up and raining and dull and just plain dreary- time to have a cup of tea, that lifts the spirits
But then to decide which cups, decided to use a new Aynsley I got a couple of weeks ago at auction. It's a colour that I rally don't have a lot of and I have another similar - so that's what we will have today.
This brass teawagon I have got so much use out of, i bought-it for outside teas but have had it inside all winter and it use it continually. The flower pot is an older fiesta ( now I'm doubting myself on it), have had for years, flowers are left from our anniversary bouquet, the end of the celebration. So now having said that I'm going to use my celebration teapot by Royal Albert so the celebration isn't ended. The lighter tea cup is the new one, very plain-but quite elegant, need a little elegance in this dreary day. No cake here like what is over at Sandi's cottage, just cheese.
Looking out the window doesn't look too bad, but it was and don't look too close, lots of work to be done.

Both cups n saucers are Aynsley, no roses or embellishments but one teacup has a leafy design.

What would you call these colours? Coral and an almost rusty with gold trim.
Trivet is Noritake one of my go toos...
Tea today is simple Red Rose, maybe I should change the name to "Simple Elegance".
Thank you for joining me for tea today, this afternoon, the rain stopped and these started to shine - turned out to be a gorgeous day.

Tuesday Tea Time

Welcome to my tea, come in and sit a spell. I think we are getting spring-think. See the crocuses up but still not to warm, tomorrow is to be so will see. Having a thunderstorm right now. What a great sound.
Reset my dining table after Easter, got away from the norm. Having a big wedding and black is the min colour so set my table with my black and so excited got a new tea wagon, pretty nice, not quite what I want yet and I will get one some day - need patience.

Here's my new tea wagon, the front legs are square, want round curved, but still great. It's a Malcolm a good name and the burled wood is good shape, very excited with it- love the tray.

My chargers are black glass, going to be used for the wedding- have 16 so head table will look so pretty. The wine glasses at Waterford just two that we got in Ireland and they will be for the bride and groom. The plates are Noritake, silverware Lady Hamilton, have silver teapot and a butter dish.
The candelabra will be used for the head table as well as the two candle stands.

What a great piece, now I did sound disappointed and not at all, loving it

So let's get down to some tea, don't have any goodies, had way too many the last two weeks and have to get into my dress as mother of the groom. This is one of my tea cups, love the black and white with the colour rose inside.
It's called black rose and a Queen Anne, so pretty

Teapot cream and sugar is Gibson, I thought I took a picture of it, but can't find it. The pitcher looks great with them it is a Sadler.
My tea today is green tea and having it all by my lonesome self, thank you for joining me today

Easter Monday

Welcome to our Easter dinner, we are holding it on Monday one grandson had to work on Easter Sunday, this is also his first time to bring his girlfriend, so here we are.

Using the Serena china and silverware is lady Hamilton, this table we are using is a large oak one from our kitchen, we did a switch as this one has four leaves, but is it heavy.

Easter bunny is sitting in his basket waiting, it had a lot of Easter eggs in it - Cadbury rel ones and I see someone has put these plastic ones in it, hmm never noticed before- wonder where they would have gone.

These are the eggs we decorated last year a grandson and I, they are dorky and really wouldn't want a crafter to see them, but they serve the purpose. This one is grandsons girlfriend she is a sports lover and Loves her shoes she has 19 runners besides high heels. After this picture we added a lacrosse stick to the egg.

Mine has high heels

Franks is a megaphone for auctioning going back 43 years ago he used something similar to this and an airplane 7 years ago or maybe 8 he became a pilot, which was a hard job at his age, had to work hard and he did, also crashed with another pilot and was so lucky to walk away.
Son in law is an electrician so he has a light bulb and a palm tree on the other side, grandsons have hockey sticks, sun glasses, daughter has a paint brush and paint can, everything reflects there likes or hobbies.

My Easter chicks with tomatoes in the centre, they are even shaped like eggs. Another tradition I started and have to keep up, but boy did I have trouble with them today, they are cute though aren't they? And oh yeh I can't get them to stand, so they lay down.

And grandpa is digging in

Finished off with three different pies, apple, lemon meringue and coconut cream and these little eggs my daughter and grandson made, out of marshmallows, Rice Krispies, chocolate chips and coconut and the best a cup of tea.
What a gift to sit back and relax and sip a great cup of tea and a homemade chocolate egg.
The news right now is doing a segment on teas popularity and it is on the rise.
We all knew that didn't we??

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter, God bless,
